Location: A simple, clean-as-a-whistle, rustic creek-side cabin, Foxfire is a dream getaway in Cazadero's redwood forest on Austin Creek. This cabin is a short jaunt from downtown Cazadero with its general store and gift shop, and even closer to local hangout, Raymond's Bakery. It's about nine miles from Guerneville and only four from Duncans Mills' great restaurants and coffee, shopping and galleries. Foxfire is also only about 10 minutes from the Pacific coast beaches.

House: Foxfire (~500sf) is a delightful little cabin, sleeping up to four on one level in cozy surroundings with amazing views of the woods on all sides. The living room, dining area and updated kitchen are open to each other, with a wood-stove for firelight ambiance. Sliding glass doors off the living room/dining area lead to a deck with gas grill, patio set, and loungers and gorgeous redwood forest views. The new queen sleeper in the living room provides both a sleeping space for two and a comfortable place for viewing the cable TV with DVD/VCR. Off the living room, separated by a curtain, the bedroom with elegantly clothed queen bed creates an intimate nest for two. The bath with combination tub/shower is also recently upgraded. This home has wireless high-speed Internet access for your laptop.

Grounds: The expansive grounds at Foxfire are simply wonderful. The cabin is surrounded by bay laurels and redwoods, which keep it cool at all times. A hammock is strung between two towering redwoods; the brand new hot tub is ready and waiting on its own deck under the trees. Most of the yard is flat, with some grassy clearing, perfect for children, dogs or playful adults. There are several short paths to the beach on Austin Creek. From there, you can wade the creek to the nearby swimming hole or just take some beach chairs down and hang out in the sun.

Payment Policies

PAYMENTS BY CHECK:
If you are paying by check, we allow you five days to return the signed contract with your payment. If there is sufficient time, you pay 60% of the rent now and the remaining 40% plus tax, cleaning and damage waiver 30 days before your arrival date.

PAYMENTS BY CREDIT CARD:
We accept Master Card and Visa. If you are paying by credit card, you must fax back your signed credit card authorization and the pages of the contract requiring a signature as soon as you've had a chance to review the contract. Generally we expect it the same day. We will charge the entire balance at once. If the booking is to occur within ten days we will require credit card authorization by telephone and the charge will be run that same day.

Once you book a house, that house is off the market to anyone else. Therefore, all payments for bookings are non-refundable unless we re-book the house, in which case there is a $50 cancellation fee. Although we generally do re-book given a reasonable amount of time, there is no guarantee that we will. Full refunds are available if flood warnings affecting your rental are posted within 3 days of arrival date. If prior to or upon your arrival, your house is not available due to any condition or problem beyond our control, we will move you to a reasonably comparable house, providing one is available.
